The new hurricane Joaquin is now a level 3 --- perhaps soon to be a 4. It may hit NYC or it may drift out to sea and become a "fish storm." No matter what it's going to bring 12-18 MORE inches of rain to the greater Charleston, SC area -- not a good thing for beach erosion, downed trees, loss of power, etc.
And the "hits" just keep on coming! It is raining here in Savannah, GA as the edge of the Gulf rains track through our area -- this is the system that is keeping Joaquin "away" from Savannah, but at the same time is saturating our grounds too. This system will be punch l of a 2-punch set of circumstances that will hit areas from the Chesapeake North, and may once again inundate NYC and points North of that.
Not so good for all my friends in NYC! And even my "former friends" in Washington, D.C.!
