Big Business, the Republicans, and Fox News

The alternate title of my "blog piece" today could be: "Who are the REAL Villains in Modern Day America Circa 2015?" No, that would be superficial and cruel. The real enemies are those who lie about "big business" -- those who shelter their money (and their consciences) in its many tax-free crevices.

Big business -- corporate America; has been treated like a single individual under our law(s). This means that the corporation has the same rights and privileges as each of us. It does not mean that human individuals should be hiding behind the corporate shield, as they undo economic theory (a fair wage for a fair amount of work?), resist social change (same sex ...whaaaaa?), and generally help themselves to the many fruits of America's consistently rising productivity. Big business is so very small-minded and narcissistic that they see only their own shiny images reflected in the pools of sweat from "real workers" that flood the landscape.

This is the time of year when "year end" bonuses are handed out to bankers, investors, and wall-street gurus -- who have managed to hold back the cries of millions of underpaid workers, for one more year.  Profits accrue on the backs of workers -- who are robbed of one more benefit (like legitimate unemployment compensation, or full promised pensions, or periodic raises to keep up with inflation) -- and these profits amount to "blood money" -- stolen from all of the rest of us.
