The sky glows with distant color. The breeze freshens and cools homes through open windows. The birds flicker through dappled leaves outstretched and dew wet.
The sun almost refuses to rise and then reluctantly pokes above the skyline. The warming air signals the start of a new day and marches onto the land. The day begins on a smooth outbreath.
The ocean stirs and the fish rise to break their fast. The tiny waves bristle over rocking pebbles in thin brine. The sand rolls back and forth, like sighs. And a child dips its clumsy foot in.
In distant soft beds -- we move in tandem with our own breathing.
