Pope and the Prime Minister

Both the Vatican and China will be well-represented in Washington D.C. as Pope Francis and Prime Minister Xi Jinping each visit the US this week.

It means that traffic will be horrible -- American politics will be shoved into the background just a bit; and Americans in general will scratch their heads (and their asses) and wonder what the heck all the fuss is about. These are important events -- not the final events of the world; but momentous ones.
Few Americans recognize that the world is much wider than their street, much less their town, or their State, or their "time," or their moment. The world is as wide as we can take in. It is beyond our easy understanding. The world is history, mankind, life, just floating by. Catch it if you can!
